NORTH WAZIRISTAN Oct 23: A clash between militants and security forces resulted in killing four civilians killed while injuring twenty five others on Tuesday night near Miranshah in North Waziristan, FRC learnt.
Local sources told FRC field reporter that last night some unknown militants attacked the Ameen Security Check Post near Miranshah Bazzar, the main town of NWA.
In retaliation the security forces started shelling on suspected hideouts of militants. During this clash mortar shells hit the local tribesmen houses in Miranshah and Data Khel areas and resultantly killed four civilians and injured twenty five others including women and children.
Local tribesmen told, besides other houses the houses of tribal Mufti Wali Khan and Khwaja Mohammad Khan were also targeted. A minor son of Khwaja Mohammad was killed while he himself was seriously injured.
The medical staff of Miranshah Agency Headquarter Hospital confirmed the killing of four civilians and injuries to 25 others.
However, local government sources neither issued any statement about the casualties of the civilians nor shared any information in this regard with media persons.
Relatives of the deceased tribesmen blocked the Bannu-Miranshah road while putting the dead-bodies on road to protest again the occurrence.
The residents of Miranshah witnessed the worst kind of dread and fright among tribesmen as they considered unsafe even inside their own houses.
